Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active IL license required to apply Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - Experience in general emergency department settings, preferably in a Level II Trauma Center. - Ability to float as needed within scope to meet facility needs. Job Description: - Provide high-quality care in a 32-bed emergency department with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. - Manage a diverse range of cases including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, and trauma. - Perform emergency response and cardiac monitoring, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management. - Conduct IV therapy and phlebotomy tasks, including starting IVs and administering blood products. - Handle medication administration, including continuous IV paralytics, sedation, emergency medications, and IV vasopressors. - Manage patients with traumatic brain or spinal cord injury and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure. - Address pediatric emergencies such as asthma, seizures, burns, infections, and more. - Respond to acute psychiatric situations, including drug overdoses and managing violent behavior. - Interpret ABGs, manage ventilated patients, and handle chest tube insertion and management. - Utilize Cerner charting systems and perform telemetric interpretations. - Practice isolation precautions and effective triage. Previous charge and Cerner experience is preferred. Flu vaccination is required, with medical/religious exemptions considered. Must be open to working every other weekend.
