Lead Mechanisms Engineer - San Diego
EVONA has partnered with a leading defence organisation who are seeking a Mechanisms supervisor to help provide leadership and technical expertise on aircraft projects.
The role:
- Participates with technical staff and program managers to develop and implement technical, schedule, quality, and financial objectives relating to aircraft mechanisms.
- Provide leadership to team members including performance and salary management for staff.
- Support and lead the engineering staff in the analysis, investigation, and resolution of engineering problems, including mentorship and oversight of reporting engineers and designers.
- May function in an advisory or leadership role for projects or programs and provide direction and guidance to less experienced professional staff or team of professional staff.
- Lead designs of aircraft mechanisms interfacing flight controls, utility, and deployable equipment.
- Supports implementation and verification of mechanical solutions on aircraft during aircraft build and flight testing.
- Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Job Requirements:
- Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice relating to mechanisms with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet establishes deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
- Must be able to develop, communicate, and apply new concepts in an evolving environment. Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Able to evaluate the integration of an engineering solution within the overall engineering system and environment.
- Experience in Computer Aided Design applications required, NX and CREO desirable.
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis required, ANSYS desirable.
- Understanding of aircraft subsystems including electric servos, motion and power mechanical transmission, and hydraulics desirable.
- Must be able to work both independently and on a team.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
