Brunel is currently searching for a QA/QC Specialist for a 3-month, contract position for a project located in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
In this role you will perform inspections and witness tests relevant to the discipline to assess work acceptability. Evaluate test and inspection reports using applicable procedures, codes, and standards. Provide recommendations for acceptance or rejection. Direct QA/QC experience is essential. Collaborates with the Senior QA/QC Specialist to complete inspection and test reports. Some positions require certification or licensure.
Duties:
Work under the direct supervision of the Senior QA/QC Specialist or QA/QC Manager.
- Attend project QA/QC Meetings as instructed.
- Report QA/QC status to the Senior QA/QC Specialist.
- Performs inspections and tests as required by project specifications.
- Ensure adherence to correct procedures according to engineering specifications and owner
- requirements by project personnel.
- Interact with client and subcontractor representatives to address any questions or concerns.
- Analyze blueprints, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications,
- inspection, and testing procedures.
- Monitor daily construction operations for compliance with specifications.
- Execute all QA/QC activities following established procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain knowledge of project-specific QA/QC standards and inspection reports.
- Manage outgoing correspondence ensuring compliance or correctness.
- Collaborates with the Senior QA/QC Specialist or QA/QC Manager to resolve nonconformance issues and verify corrections.
- Participate in internal/external audits to uphold QA/QC requirements ,as directed.
- Assist in compiling project QA/QC turnover packages.
- Conduct inspections promptly and professionally upon notification by craft or the Senior
- QA/QC Specialist.
- Engage in initial orientation and ongoing job specific QA/QC training covering procedures,
- documents, company goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- At least seven (7) years of discipline experience with a minimum of three years in a quality role that spans both field and shop environments. Licensure and other relevant certifications are strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of construction processes, installations, functions, and testing procedures
- to ensure complete functionality for the applicable craft.
- Ability to engage professionally with employees at multiple levels, owner, subcontractor, and
- other representatives.
- Strong interpersonal skills to positively influence QA/QC behaviors.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing environment and new challenges.
- Cultural sensitivity for managing relationships across diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrate capabilities to enhance the QA/QC culture within the organization.
- Proficiency with standard office software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
- Openness to gaining additional training, certifications, education, and clearances.
- MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
Offer:
Position offers an hourly rate plus overtime plus overtime pay.Benefits offered on first day of employment include Medical, Dental and Vision. $125 daily Per Diem. Position is offered to complete a project nearing completion by end of year. 6 week rotations. Company will cover return home accommodations every six weeks for a long weekend (noon Thursday to noon Monday). This project is on a 5-day work week, 10 hours per day.
Working Environment /Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with potential exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and varying weather and temperature conditions.
- Occasional air travel may involve overnight stays.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
- Frequent use of stairs, ladders, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and
- crouching.
- Occasional work on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures.
- Clear vision for reading printed and electronic documents. Proof of eye examination may be
- required in certain instances.
- Ability to perceive and react to common construction environment sounds.
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds
- constantly t.
- Operate motor vehicles and other construction equipment.
