Primary Location
Location: Tampa, FL - Onsite
Schedule: Evenings - M-F 2:30pm -11:00pm
Hourly Pay: $20-$35
Contract to possible Hire position:13 weeks with possible extension /hire
Job Summary
- Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
- Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a limited scope of biomedical equipment.
- Performs duties and established and recognized standards as adopted by the Association for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation.
- Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of the hospital
- Completion of a 2-year Associate degree, military training, or academic work aligned with AAMI’s Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician, and a basic knowledge of mathematics, anatomy, physiology, biology, physics, chemistry, medical terminology, English, computer and networking peripherals, and professional skills.
Specific Skills/Experience Biomedical Technician Tier 2
- Must have 2-4 years of experience
- Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported
- Can provide comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care
- Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support (hospital, clinic, etc.)
- Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported.
- Can provide comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care.
- Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support such as hospital, clinic, etc.
- Has comprehensive experience in their assigned clinical environment.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of both local and national public safety and regulatory issues.
- Can assist less experiences technicians.
- Demonstrates the ability to solve service line customer service problems.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of clinical equipment, radiological, laboratory and network medical systems.
