Akkodis is looking for an Operations Manager at the Erie, PA location. As a member of the Operations Management Team, the Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations and delivery of key metrics, including safety, quality, production, delivery, and cost for both exempt and hourly employees. The role requires driving continuous improvement processes, managing complex issues, and forecasting labor needs to meet production goals. The Operations Manager will ensure alignment with business objectives and collaborate across functional teams to optimize performance and efficiency. Here are the specs of the role:
Salary: $80,0000-100,000/annum with benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations to meet safety, quality, production, delivery, and cost goals.
- Manage complex issues within functional areas, delivering solutions aligned with long-term business goals.
- Forecast labor needs based on production planning to meet both short-term and long-term production goals.
- Directly manage and develop a team of front-line supervisors, salaried, and hourly employees.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Analyze data to drive decision-making and deliver results for cross-functional teams.
- Develop and implement performance metrics that align with business strategies and objectives.
- Manage assets, tooling, and maintenance while identifying cost reduction opportunities.
- Lead recruitment, training, and coaching of employees, conducting performance reviews and offering feedback.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Collaborate on unionized workforce management (if applicable) and resolve conflicting priorities.
- Manage cross-functional initiatives to improve overall plant operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or 10 years of operations experience in a manufacturing setting (in lieu of degree).
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, with proven ability to lead salaried and hourly teams.
- 3-5 years of experience in machining operations.
- Strong data collection and analysis skills for effective decision-making..
- Demonstrated leadership in a cross-functional environment.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
- Six Sigma certification or training is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and Mastercam software.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for long durations, be mobile, and use hands and fingers to handle or operate tools.
- Regularly required to operate office equipment such as a computer, printer, and copy machine.
- Must be capable of moving or carrying objects and materials as needed.
