Actuarial Intern Responsibilities:
This is an excellent opportunity to enter our Actuarial development track and join a high-performing Actuarial department within a reputable organization located in the heart of downtown Chicago. This new position, starting May/June 2025, is within the Old Republic Actuarial Management Company “ORAMCO” actuarial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting a team of actuaries with pricing analyses and reserve analyses for a variety of property-casualty commercial lines with the opportunity to grow. The candidate will work primarily in support of the ORRM large account and alternative risk group.
Actuarial Intern duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Gain an understanding of the Company's Actuarial Department
- Perform routine tasks to support a high-paced actuarial team
- Loss data analysis
- Exposure data analysis
- New business and renewal submission actuarial model assistance
- Assist with various research projects and studies
Experience/Required Skills:
Actuarial students must be currently pursuing an Actuarial, Risk Management or an Insurance major, have completed at least four semesters of college course work by 2025. This position also requires one to display strong leadership qualities, proven project management skills, and the ability to work in a team environment with senior management.
Other skills necessary include excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to maintain accurate records, the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information, excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products is also necessary.
