OVERVIEW
Insight Global is seeking a Bilingual Safety Engineer to join a construction/project consulting client in Montgomery, Alabama! This individual will support the Senior Safety Manager and project team in the successful and safe completion of construction. They will manage health and safety processes, procedures, and training on site for the project team.
This project supports brand new construction of a 715,000 sq ft datacenter and is worth upward of $800M. The ideal candidate has experience providing high level safety program oversight as well as day to day experience communicating safety objectives to field individuals. Individuals on this project speak English and Spanish so this person must be fluent and able to present in both languages.
Responsibilities Include:
- Communicate safety objectives with project owners, insurance carriers, internal staff members, and craft/trade specific partners and vendors.
- Participate in executive safety culture activities and assist the Safety Committee with ongoing initiatives.
- Oversee safety point file system and documentation.
- Assess and anticipate safety supplies and PPE.
- Participate in established quality control and safety processes including Hazard Analysis, Follow Up Inspections, and risk control.
- Conduct project specific safety trainings and assist in developing training schedules. Assist other team members in conducting trainings.
- Lead the development and implementation of the project's SAFE program.
- Conduct project specific safety audits and assist in team safety audits.
- Stay up to date with relevant construction safety protocols and trainings.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience leading safety efforts on commercial construction projects.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish - written and verbal communication/presentations
- Valid Driver's License
- Proven ability to establish and carry out safety training procedures.
- Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel based templates), Prolog, Primavera, Autodesk Suite
- High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety or similar field
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CSHT) Certification
- Additional related certifications
