Job Description: - ICU typically manages a mix of ICU, Sub-acute, and floor status patients. - Patient ratios: ICU 1:2; SAC 1:4; Floor 1:5. - Required skills and special requirements include: - Chest tube insertion - Intubations - Paracentesis and Thoracentesis - Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) - Arterial and Central Lines management - FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring - Dysrhythmia interpretation and management - Multi-system organ failure management - IV insulin protocols - GI surgery - Acute/Chronic Renal failure - Blood product administration - PICC line management - Starting IVs and continuous IV sedation - Procedural sedation administration - Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips - Stroke management protocols - Hypothermia protocols/Arctic Sun operation - Ventilator and respiratory assistance - Phlebotomy - Surgical wound management with drains or Wound Vac - Patient diagnoses may include Sepsis/septic shock, renal failure, ARDS, respiratory failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, ETOH withdrawal, orthopedic trauma, and bariatrics. - Use of equipment such as CRRT-NxStage, Edwards FloTrac-EV1000, Phillips Monitors, Hill-Rom ICU beds, Ceiling lifts, Arctics Sun, Bear Hugger, and Cooling Blanket. - Must be open to occasional floating to other inpatient units. - Willingness to work weekends as required (every other weekend minimum). - Compliance document deadline is two weeks before the start. - Must be prepared for compliance and drug screenings within the specified timeframe.
