We are supporting a PE-owned Chemical Manufacturing Company based in Waggeman, LA. Our client is seeking an interim Environmental Manager who will provide environmental engineering guidance and assistance to individual units to ensure full compliance with Federal, State, and Local Environmental regulations, emphasizing LADEQ water, waste, deep-well injection, and air compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, compile, and/or submit solid and hazardous waste management data, hazardous waste reports, and other multimedia environmental reports, including air, water, and deep-well injection
- Assist in administering RCRA programs and policies to ensure timely regulatory compliance, business objectives, and SHE objectives are met.
- Support compliance with environmental standards, provide assistance in improving environmental performance and ensure facility environmental policies and procedures are aligned with governmental regulations.
- Assist in developing and implementing programs for environmental monitoring and sampling activities.
- Conduct permit renewal and modification activities as required.
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on environmental initiatives.
- Periodic monitoring of key metrics related to environmental performance.
- Performing gap analysis and developing and implementing action plans to improve SHE performance.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or related industry.
- Experience as an environmental coordinator or industrial hygienist assigned to a process unit, with demonstrated knowledge and practice of OSHA PSM 1910.119 elements and / or LADEQ air, water, waste, and deep-well injection compliance.
- Familiarity with scrubbers, flares, and deep wells operation and the associated regulatory requirements.
- BS in chemistry, engineering or related science field.
