This role is for nights - Candidate will train for the first 3 months on days, once on nights 10pm-6am
UNDERSTANDING
Coordinates environmental health and safety policies, completes workplace and equipment inspections, and implements workplace safety programs. Coordinates occupational safety training for employees. Monitors compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations. Audits and inspects all areas of company using 1910 standard. Conducts and create inspections and coordinate with departments to audit procedures. Work with all departments of the organization to maintain a safe work environment by conducting risk assessments, develop safety policies and procedures, investigate accidents and incidents, monitor compliance with safety regulations, and keep up to date on changes in safety regulation.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP
- Reports to the Director of HSSE & Risk.
- Communicates regularly and has a strong relationship with team members in multiple departments.
- Communicates and meets periodically with other departmental leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with review of accidents and incidents which occur along with assisting with reporting the corrective actions.
- Contribute and implement to the EHS Training Plans as well as tracking.
- Coordinate and present training programs in general safety and facility training and/or specialty area.
- Coordinate with Director on facility deficiencies and daily/weekly safety inspections.
- Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
- Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits, regulatory requirements, and training.
- Maintain and update as needed SOP’s for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training.
- Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety.
- Participate in institutional professional development and training.
- Participate in the development of safety guidelines and related environmental health and safety communications and educational information.
- Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company.
- Provide advice and assist to ensure that effective EHS programs are implemented and working.
- Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure common and effective approach.
- Able to work odd shifts
- Serve as chair on safety committees/councils.
- Support facility growth and expansion, Air permitting, Recycling/Waste minimization activities, Regulatory Issues, Safety equipment.

REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent interpersonal skills – team player.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Programs.
- Must be detailed oriented. • Strong organizational skills.

- Ability to conduct trainings in front of small and large audiences.
- Minimum of 2 years Safety related experience required or equivalent participation in manufacturing safety programs.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, NFPA, DOT, and NEC regulations.
- OSHA 10 a plus.
- OSHA 30 a plus.
- Experience with an LMS system highly preferred.
- Audit experience preferred.
- First Aid and CPR a plus.
- PIT Trainer desired.
- Designations in safety highly desired.
- Great verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent years of manufacturing experience preferred.
