Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solutions Architect to lead and manage Oracle Database solutions, providing innovative and scalable technical strategies for enterprise-level applications. Additionally, you’ll support our client’s partners, customers, and sales teams by demonstrating how their products solve Oracle Database-related challenges. In this role, you’ll act as a key technical advisor, while driving technical onboarding and training for internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will design Oracle Database architectures, optimize performance, and educate customers on database change management best practices using our client's solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Oracle Database Solution Design & Architecture:
- Design end-to-end Oracle Database solutions to meet technical and business requirements.
- Develop scalable, high-availability architectures for OLTP, OLAP, and data warehousing systems.
- Define best practices for database partitioning, clustering, and replication strategies.
- Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration with enterprise solutions.
Technical Support for Client’s Solutions Team:
- Act as a subject matter expert on Oracle database architecture and our client's database change management solutions.
- Collaborate with Account Executives to demonstrate the value of our client’s solutions in solving customer challenges.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demos, and proof of concepts (POCs) for customers and prospects.
- Provide ongoing technical training and updates to Account Executives, partners, and customers.
Performance Optimization & Security:
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in Oracle Databases through SQL optimization, indexing, partitioning, and memory management.
- Design and implement Oracle security architectures, including encryption, role management, and audit controls.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX.
- Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies to guarantee data integrity and availability.
Sales & Customer Engagement:
- Support sales teams by providing technical expertise during sales cycles, including technical discovery and qualification.
- Represent our client at industry events, delivering demos, technical sessions, and webinars to educate customers on best practices.
- Work closely with customers to gather feedback, relay insights to Product Management, and improve solution offerings.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Mentor junior technical staff and provide technical leadership to ensure solutions align with business goals.
- Collaborate with our client’s advocates, product managers, and engineering teams to support complex use cases.
- Lead internal technical training sessions for our client’s Sales Engineers and other staff to improve their product knowledge.
Migration & Upgrades:
- Lead strategies for migrating Oracle databases between systems, upgrading legacy systems to newer versions, and consolidating databases.
- Design and implement multi-tenant database solutions and ensure seamless transitions for clients.
Competitor Analysis:
- Stay informed on competitor products, industry trends, and best practices in Oracle database and change management.
- Help develop our client’s positioning against competitors through regular market analysis.
Key Technical Requirements:
- Oracle Database Systems:
- Oracle Database (12c, 19c, and newer)
- Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), Oracle Data Guard, Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management)
- Expertise in Oracle Exadata, Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with our client’s database change management solutions, and the ability to integrate these products with Oracle environments.
- Programming & Scripting:
- SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripting, Python
- Experience with Oracle APEX, Oracle Forms, Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)
- Performance Tuning:
- AWR (Automatic Workload Repository), ASH (Active Session History), Oracle Enterprise Manager for Performance Monitoring
- Security & Compliance:
- Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Oracle Key Vault, Oracle Label Security (OLS)
- Data Integration:
- Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Streams, ETL tools (ODI, Informatica)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience with Oracle Databases, including design, architecture, and administration.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing large-scale Oracle Database solutions and supporting database change management workflows.
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies in software delivery.
- Experience working in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Engineer or similar.
- Oracle Database certifications (OCP, OCM) are a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with additional database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or hybrid database solutions.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD platforms, and technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

- Collaborate with Account Executives, learn SE engagement process, and shadow customer demos.
90 days – Pursuit of Happiness:
- Take on your first solo customer deal, supported by your mentor.
- Gain a deep understanding of our client’s products, competitors, and positioning.
- Continue developing technical expertise in relational databases and CI/CD platforms.
