Job Description
Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We are currently seeking for a Quality control Specialist for the Valagro Manufacturing team in Orangeburg, SC.
The resource will be responsible for carrying out classical and instrumental analytical chemical determinations, physical and physico-chemical level of raw materials and production samples taken from plants, using specialized chemical techniques from the fertilizer area.
This position will be on site in South Carolina. Optimal support location for the territory is in the Orangeburg area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- The resource will ensure that the chemical laboratory, under development within the production site’s quality control area, focuses on delivering real-time analytical data on raw materials and production processes. This includes controlling critical chemical parameters to minimize the risk of out-of-specification occurrences, reduce waste, and optimize the release time for finished products.
- The resource will be responsible for sample preparation and handling techniques, conducting chemical analyses, and executing experiments in strict adherence to established protocols. A solid understanding of ethical standards and strict adherence to safe laboratory practices will be required to ensure a secure, reliable working environment aligned with industry ethical and safety principles.
- The resource will also manage non-conformance events by identifying and addressing any deviations encountered during production or customer complaints, working closely with cross-functional teams to determine root causes and develop actionable solutions to mitigate future non-compliance incidents.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or degree in technical/scientific field (chemical is preferred)
Base chemical knowledge
At least 1-2 years' experience in analytical laboratories (preferably in the fertilizer field)
Good knowledge of analytical and instrumental chemical theory and techniques such as IC, analyzers and titrators
Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data
Report writing skills
Good communication and team working skills
