PE Licensed / Technical background in geotechnical engineering that includes Deep Foundations, seismic, and soil strength/behavior
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, with expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, and site investigation. You will be responsible for analyzing and designing geotechnical solutions for various civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Geotechnical Analysis: Conduct soil and rock property assessments, including site investigations, sampling, and laboratory testing.
- Design Development: Create geotechnical designs for foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and earthworks, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Technical Reports: Prepare detailed geotechnical reports that communicate findings, analyses, and design recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with structural engineers, architects, and construction teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into project designs.
- Site Inspections: Perform site visits and inspections to monitor construction practices and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Problem Solving: Address geotechnical challenges that arise during project development, proposing innovative solutions and modifications as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all geotechnical work meets local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Project Management: Assist in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, ensuring timely delivery of geotechnical services.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical design and analysis.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in the process of obtaining.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in geotechnical design software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio) and strong analytical skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Team Player: Strong collaboration skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
