Job Description:
We are excited to welcome a motivated and dynamic Business Development Associate to our team at Bluewater Battery Logistics. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging with owners and operators in the battery energy storage and utility sectors, specifically within the solar space. Other responsibilities include identifying potential customers and establishing relationships with key stakeholders. Your key role will involve prospecting for solar panel decommissioning projects, recycling opportunities, and selling surplus solar panels. You will use your strong communication skills and business acumen to drive business development in these industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting: Identify and build relationships with companies interested in recycling or purchasing new surplus solar panels or battery energy storage equipment
- Outreach: Initiate contact with EPCs, site owners, operators, and key decision-makers, introducing Bluewater Battery Logistics' services and building rapport, specifically relating to solar.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing information and solutions that meet their specific project needs.
- CRM Maintenance: Compile and maintain a database of potential projects, tracking project details, timelines, and key contacts.
- Sales Documentation: Create quotes, proposals, and other deal documents to share externally with customers, outlining pricing and deal terms.
- Effective Communication: Effectively communicate the value and benefits of our services through cold calling, email campaigns, and virtual meetings.
- Market Insight: Stay up to date with solar industry trends, regulations, and emerging opportunities, particularly in solar recycling and the circular economy.
- Sales Strategy & Forecasting: Develop and implement a plan for driving growth and profitability within the energy storage sector. Use this framework to work with leadership in accurately forecasting future performance.
- Client Support: Develop a strong understanding of each of your customer’s needs in order to proactively problem solve and facilitate the resale, repurpose, or recycling of their solar panels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in a B2B setting or relevant industries.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with stakeholders.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a high-energy, results-driven approach to sales and business development.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Collaborative team player who can work closely with sales, operations, and logistics teams.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
- Excellent attention to detail
- A self-starter who takes pride in their work, shows initiative, and expresses ownership over their responsibilities
