Our client, a multi-brand organization, is seeking a dynamic and experienced VP Graphic Design to lead their Apparel graphics team of 5-7 direct reports. This role requires a visionary leader who can understand and harness the strengths of the team, ensuring that all artwork is completed on time and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is adept at working with various remote design teams, maintaining strict adherence to project calendars, and collaborating closely with the design directors of licensors. The salary range for this role is approximately $170-200,000 range based on experience. This role is considered hybrid with 2-3 days in office/ balance remote. Must have apparel experience working either in a wholesale or retail environment.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Act as the quarterback for the creative team, understanding individual and collective strengths and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Hands-On Leadership: Be a roll-up-your-sleeves leader, ready to dive into projects to ensure their successful completion.
- Project Completion: Ensure all artwork is brought over the finish line, meeting the highest quality standards and deadlines.
- Calendar Management: Maintain strict adherence to project timelines, ensuring all deliverables are met on schedule.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work effectively with different design teams, facilitating smooth communication and coordination.
- Brand Understanding: Have a deep understanding of various brands and how to represent them creatively and consistently.
- Licensor Collaboration: Work closely with the design directors of licensors to align creative output with brand guidelines and expectations.
- Retail Insight: Possess a strong understanding of Costco and its unique requirements, ensuring all creative work aligns with their standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Senior Art Director or Design Director managing several Apparel Graphic Artists in a multi-brand environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent project management abilities with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Deep understanding of brand development and creative processes.
- Experience working with licensors and maintaining brand integrity.
- Familiarity with Costco and its design standards is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
