The Boston Bar Association (BBA) is an organization of over 15,000 members dedicated to advancing excellence in the legal profession and supporting a thriving legal community in Massachusetts. We are seeking a part-time Membership and Customer Service Assistant to help us deliver exceptional service to our members, who represent the forefront of the legal profession.
Preferred Schedule:
Part-time non-exempt. T/W/Th 10am-2pm. 12-18 hours/week.
About the Role:
As the Membership and Customer Service Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our members by addressing their inquiries, assisting with membership applications and renewals, and ensuring our membership records are accurate and up to date. You’ll also provide important administrative support to the Lawyer Referral Service, contributing to the BBA’s mission of connecting individuals with legal resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for members via phone and email, providing support on membership benefits, renewals, and events.
- Assist in processing new memberships and renewals.
- Help organize membership events, including logistical and administrative support.
- Maintain member records and perform regular data entry projects.
- Provide support to the Lawyer Referral Service by managing inquiries and generating reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a professional setting.
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with Salesforce or other database systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple member inquiries efficiently.
Hourly rate: starting at $27.50/hour DOE
