General Position Summary:
Develop business plan and expand revenue base through marketing, sales, and business development in alignment with corporate goals. Manage/ supervise Industrial Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators. Manage multiple, specialized, fast-track mechanical construction projects through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting of costs and profitability.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Lead the Industrial team to deliver quality and profitable projects.
2. Provide training and mentorship for group project managers and project engineers.
3. Forecast department revenues, gross profits, and bookings.
4. Generate and modify business plans as influenced by market conditions.
5. Generate growth plan and work the plan.
6. Collaborate with other lines of business to promote customer retention and new business.
7. Assign best suited project management support for new project opportunities and new projects.
8. Develop and maintain client relations.
9. Participate in industry and client social networking events to market and promote UMC in the marketplace.
10. Review job estimates of direct reports and prepare project budgets.
11. Estimate and negotiate change orders.
12. Track, forecast, report labor hours and material costs.
13. Buyout major equipment and subcontracts
14. Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials.
15. Maintain working knowledge of general conditions, work scope and specifications of project contract/subcontract.
16. Maintain and control documents in compliance with UMC Standards as well as contractual compliance.
17. Supervise Project Managers, Project Engineers and General Superintendents including quarterly and annual coaching.
18. Collaborate with field labor supervision to plan, organize and schedule project work including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule.
19. Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications
20. Prepare fabrication shop work package including detail drawing review, material take off and buyout, and man-hour fabrication budget.
21. Ensure full compliance with UMC Safety Program at the jobsite.
22. Provide proactive, clear, and timely communication to team members.

Supervisory Responsibility:
• Supervise Industrial Group Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators.
Education/ Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:
• A minimum of five years experience as a mechanical project manager
• Construction Management or Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering degree desired
• A minimum of three years experience managing PM’s and PE’s.
Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required:
• Maintain a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
