This elite firm is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate opening in their Chicago office. This firm pays their Associates according to Cravath scale, whilst only requiring a reasonable 1800 billable hours to hit bonus.
Requirements:
- Applicants should have 2-6 years of experience in commercial litigation, covering a wide array of areas, including securities, privacy, class actions, business torts, and more.
- A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is mandatory.
- Ideal candidates will demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset in building their legal practice, and hands-on experience with pre-trial procedures, investigations, and trial proceedings.
- While prior judicial clerkship experience is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement for candidates with proven litigation expertise.
Duties:
- Represent clients in commercial litigation matters, including intellectual property disputes, securities litigation, privacy breaches, class actions, and business torts.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, and prepare for court appearances.
- Assist with internal investigations and white-collar criminal matters.
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and provide legal advice.
- Handle pre-trial procedures, participate in negotiations, and potentially conduct trials.
