Ginsberg Jacobs LLC is seeking a Legal Secretary to join our team. This position will primarily support our firm’s commercial real estate team and provide backup support to the litigation group.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of legal secretarial experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of Illinois and Federal Court rules and procedures is helpful
- Experience with Odyssey and Federal Court (ECF) e-filing systems is helpful
- Comfortable learning new software and technologies
- Experience with document management software a plus
- High School diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing, editing, formatting, and proofreading various legal documents and correspondence
- Prepare closing documents, signature pages, and closing binders
- File pleadings using both Federal and State court e-filing systems
- Maintain pleadings and discovery binders
- Ensure completeness of electronic files in document management system
- Input attorney time into time and billing system
- Prepare expense reports
- Answer phones, calendar management, open and distribute mail
- Support other legal secretaries and attorneys within Firm as needed
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
