Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: McHenry County, IL

We collaborate closely with Contract Sales, Component Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to deliver exceptional service and support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot equipment in the field and occasionally in the office, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly.
- Oversee equipment modification projects to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in and participate in testing and tuning of equipment, ensuring products meet performance standards.
- Document service activities and results, maintaining thorough and accurate records for each customer interaction.
- Provide on-site training and conduct preventive maintenance inspections for our customers, ensuring the longevity and safe operation of their equipment.
- Identify and report any safety concerns related to equipment installation and operation to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Promote component sales and spare parts to customers during site visits.
- Provide feedback to Sales, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to continuously improve product design and service.
- Support the company’s ISO objectives, policies, and procedures and contribute to the GK SCOPE Program.
- Assist in research, development, and product demonstrations, staying involved with new technology and product advancements.
- Be available for worldwide travel, sometimes on short notice, with the ability to spend 3 to 4 weeks on assignment.
- Perform hands-on work with equipment, including climbing ladders, crawling under equipment, and working in challenging environments or job sites.
- Respond to customer requests with an understanding of basic business concepts, ensuring professional communication and effective problem-solving.
- Continuously build technical knowledge from existing policies, procedures, and hands-on experience.
- Approach problem-solving by analyzing and distinguishing relevant information, taking ownership of initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve meaningful outcomes for both customers and the company.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to guide service activities.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in metalworking, power transmissions, mechanical equipment, or electrical control systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of programming and control systems is a plus.
- Bi-lingual abilities (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products for documentation and reporting.
- Willingness to work in challenging environments and physically demanding conditions.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Travel Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel globally for field service assignments, often for extended periods (3-4 weeks).
