The Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations to maximize process efficiency and productivity. This role involves collaborating internally & externally and leading and developing others to do the same across departments to ensure the seamless flow of goods, services, and information from suppliers to customers. The CSCO will also play a crucial role in developing and implementing supply chain strategies that support the company’s growth and profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
Oversee the entire supply chain process, including procurement, production, inventory management, distribution, and logistics.
Lead and manage the supply chain team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure alignment and integration of supply chain activities.
Establish and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners.
Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Manage supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to keep the supply chain competitive.
Elevate the supply chain competence and execution of the entire organization.
Key Experiences:
15+ years supply chain experience preferably across manufacturing, distribution and final mile including both industrial and direct to consumer businesses
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field Master’s degree preferred
Supply Chain certifications preferred
Lean Six Sigma certifications preferred
Global supply chain experience preferred
Recent near shoring experience preferred
Proven experience in a senior supply chain management role, preferably at least 3 years in a chief supply chain officer role
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools and a track record of leading successful system implementations/enhancements
Experience with both legacy and emerging systems preferred
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
