Job Summary:
The Production Manager has general management responsibility for the overall manufacturing processes as well as the physical facility. This includes accountabilities for all products manufactured, all aspects of safety performance including environmental, product quality and quantity, personnel hiring and discipline, training, budgeting, shipping, and receiving, cost control and reduction, and developing a strong team environment with clear and effective communications. Serve as the key interface with a variety of support personnel including Engineering, Technical Services, Scheduling, Sales, Customer Service and Logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Direct oversight of over 100 workers, including 20 supervisors and department leads.·
- Direct oversight of the drywall department and personnel.
- Direct oversight of the final finish department and personnel.
- Direct oversight of the wall department and personnel.
- Ensure all work meets specifications and codes requirements.
- Direct employees to meet all tasks, standards, and deadlines.
- Visually inspect workmanship to ensure quality.
- Visually inspect homes at midline and final finish to verify the accuracy of orders and code compliance.
- Confirm that all modular structures are finished and conform to standards, and are ready to ship
- Responsible for hiring, orientation, and training of new supervisors and employees in accordance with company, local, and state regulations.
- Track and monitor production and make necessary adjustments to ensure goals and deadlines are met.·
- Track and report on material usage to ensure the plant is within budget.·
- Act as lead project manager for a variety of projects involving multiple stakeholders.·
- Responsible for ensuring all employees are paid accordingly and receive raises as appropriate.·
- Responsible for employee performance including coaching, crucial conversations, corrective action, and termination when needed
- Responsible for timely and accurate reporting and processing of payroll records.·
- Work directly with buyers to ensure projects are delivered on-time, with all expectations and customizations met.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Production/Operations Management, Engineering, or Supply Chain,
- Minimum of 10 years experience as a Plant or Operations Manager in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 5-7 years of directly-related experience in the prefabrication of Modular structures
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft business applications and various reporting software.
- Able to collaborate and work in a team based environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Solid business acumen, analytical, and problem-thinking skills
- Bilingual Spanish
