Our client has an opportunity as a Contracts Manager; this role is 100% remote with minimal travel for client meetings. In this role, the Contracts Manager oversees the entire lifecycle of contracts, including negotiation, execution, compliance, and renewal. This role requires deep knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and compliance requirements and the ability to manage complex government contracts. It also requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of contract law, and the ability to manage complex contractual relationships. The Senior Contracts Director will work closely with various departments to ensure that all contracts are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation, negotiation, execution, and management of all company contracts/agreements, including non-disclosure, teaming, subcontracts, consulting, vendor, MSAs, etc.).
- Ensure government contracts are aligned with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Collaborate with business development and proposal teams to prepare and review proposals for government contracts. Ensure proposals meet regulatory requirements and align with company capabilities.
- Lead high-stakes contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners. Develop strategies to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
- Ensure all contracts comply with local, state, federal, and international regulations. Maintain a robust compliance monitoring system.
- Identify and manage contractual risks, providing solutions and recommendations to mitigate potential issues.
- Work closely with project/program managers to track contract deliverables/reports, maintain contract files, and track budgets (ceiling and funded values).
- Develop, implement, and maintain contract policies, procedures, and standards.
- Build strong relationships with government contracting officers, internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and partners. Act as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries.
- Track contract performance and compliance. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
- Prepare for and manage external audits by government agencies.
- Address and resolve contract disputes promptly and effectively, employing negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Prepare and present reports on contract status, compliance, risks, and performance to senior management.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in government and commercial contracting.
- In-depth knowledge of all contract types (e.g., T&M, FFP, and Cost Plus).
- Strong background in FAR, DFARS, and other relevant regulations.
- Proven ability to solicit and process complex information and data to solve complex problems and make sound decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with measured and articulate communication skills; ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Experience with Teaming Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and other legal instruments is necessary.
- Experience with subcontract management, the proposal lifecycle, compliance, and procurement system approval are a plus.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

- Professional certifications, such as National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM), Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), are a plus.
