POSITION TITLE: Supervisor, Electrical Finish 2nd Shift

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This supervisory position is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and safety of personnel, maintain the quality of the product, and ensure the department meets production goals for the company. Electrical Finish supervisor provides leadership, direction, and instructions for the unionized workforce.
Essential Functions
The incumbent has responsibility to execute manufacturing schedules based on requirements from management.
- Responsible for the manufacture and assembly of cores, coils, woodwork electrical connections, seating of coils, miscellaneous duties etc.
- Maintain the forecast and schedule for the department, based on the project workload and constraint dates.
- Implement productivity-based norms to determine the efficiency of personnel.
- Plan shift work and allocate resources to maximize Finish time.
- Ensure that the applicable company standards are adhered.
- Communicating before and after each shift with other supervision
- Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data.
- Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
- Creation of SOP's
- Employee training
- Partnering in design, modification, and installation of specialized equipment
- Lead and improve team through daily communication.
- Ascertain the basic manufacturing flow of the product.
- Analyzes potential problems, provides options, and implements solutions.
- Keep the work area safe, neat, and clean.
- Develop RCA
- Study of time and motion of the process
- Develop internal projects.
- Lead in 5s
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be able to work on complex work assignments
- Has contributory or shared decision impact
- Must have good communication skills – oral and written
- Good computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Office, programming
- Strong understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts
Working Relationships-Relationships are generally intra-organizational, interacting with other supervisors and personnel under his direction. The incumbent maintains the interface between departments allowing for the coordination and execution of production requirements. Contacts with vendors are also maintained
Education and Experience
- A good grasp on the basics of Electrical Concepts; topics such as turns ratio, EMF, Ohm's law Lenz's law, and circuit theory is preferred
Preferred Education / Experience
- Previous work in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Power Systems course.
- Electrical Course work preferred
Physical Job Demands
Ability to lift 60 lbs., work in extreme hot and cold weather, must stand for long periods of time, will be exposed to loud noise levels, operate hand and power tools for long periods of time. Work in an environment with dirt, grease, and dust. Manual dexterity to operate specialized equipment. Ability to hear telephone conversations and speak clearly. May need a high level of concentration in a busy area.
Working Conditions
Monday through Friday and on-call is required. Shift, weekend, and overtime as required.
