Role:
As a Market Manager for Off Hours Bourbon, you will be joining a top-performing brand in the premium whiskey category. As a key member of our company, you will lead all sales and field marketing activities in order to build the Off Hours brand and achieve sales goals for the region. The Market Manager will work closely with the corporate team to execute all sales and marketing initiatives, and will lead local distributor relationships (distributor management, on-premise, off-premise, chain accounts, etc.).
In order to be successful, you will be required to develop a deep understanding of the bourbon industry and specifically the key attributes of the Off Hours brand, history and production process.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Sales Leadership
- Responsible for the sales performance in your market including depletion goals, key account placements across on and off premise, points of distribution, merchandising efforts, cocktail menu features, etc.
- Create independent account buyer relationships, meeting with new and existing accounts on a daily basis
- Facilitate market ride with distributor sales representatives on a regular basis
- Focus on account staff trainings and education seminars for all key accounts
- Conduct retail tasting events frequently for off premise accounts
- Join out-of-market sales blitzes with distributor teams when launching new regions
Distributor Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for the distributor team in your market, working to build a deep partnership for Off Hours Bourbon through the distributor leadership and field sales teams
- Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with distributor to communicate company goals, earn additional sales support (e.g., quota support), schedule ride-withs, and present at General Sales Meetings to share brand updates and field marketing initiatives
- Work with assigned portfolio manager to establish and understand market pricing models, deals, etc.
Field Marketing / Promotions Leadership
- Achieve all field marketing Key Performance Indicators
- Actively seek out and identify local event and promotional opportunities in your market to support Off Hours awareness and drive sales
- Manage Point of Sale assets and regional allocation
- Lead merchandising activities in the market including installation of shelf talkers, retail display racks, branded signage, menu / cocktail features, branded bar accessories, wall signage, etc.
- Lead effective and efficient communication with corporate marketing team on all local promotions and events to ensure strategic execution
Admin/ Budget Compliance
- Manage local market budget adhering to company approval policies, expense reporting policies and expense management platform
- Understand sources of account and performance data in your market, and work to incorporate data into local sales strategies
- Participate in weekly team and individual sales calls with Off Hours management team, and maintain a high level of communication regarding market management
- Adhere to all sales and marketing reporting routines
Requirements:
- Candidate will have a strong record of success in brand development and sales performance.
- Must have a working knowledge of the regional adult beverage industry and regulatory landscape.
- Ideal candidate will have experience and existing relationships with regional retail chains and regional key on-premise accounts
- Must have experience with distributor management in the adult beverage industry.
- Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner at all times with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives, employees, vendors, and customers (both internal and external) at all levels of the organization, in person, via telephone and email or other written correspondence
- Proficient in MS Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to analyze available information for the purposes of preparing reports, coordinating efforts and solving problems
- Possession of exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to manage numerous activities and support the efforts of others in achieving company goals
- High attention to detail and proven success working in an autonomous work environment.
