Job Summary
Veliz Construction is seeking a Superintendent ready to join a highly demanding, fast-paced construction environment. We seek a self-motivated individual with a passion for construction and a desire to learn and grow with our company. Responsibilities
- Prepare Plan Percent Complete (PPC) and Two Week Look Ahead schedules
- Prepare and conduct LEAN construction Pull Sessions with subcontractors
- Interact effectively with owners, teams, and other stakeholders to maintain a positive project environment and exceptional client experience
- Conduct meetings with field workers and subcontractors to inform, coordinate, and direct work
- Maintain daily documentation of constructability issues, potential design conflicts, and clarifications with the appropriate personnel
- Participate in the pre-job planning process and coordinates with clients and PM
- Monitor and analyze project budget and maintain accurate project cost records
- Become thoroughly familiar with the plans, specifications, shop drawings, and all documents related to the project
- Procure/order and ensure necessary materials and equipment are on the job site, ready and available
- Provide leadership and guidance to field workers and subcontractors. Plan, review, develop, and manage the project team to ensure relentless execution of the project
- Identify, understand, and actively manage project wastes and risks
- Inspect work of field workers and subcontractors to ensure construction conforms to contract and quality requirements
- Work closely with the general superintendent to fulfill field personnel requirements
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements, including crewmember disciplinary documentation, site-specific quality control plan, and Lean onboarding
- Create awareness and demonstrates a commitment to an accident-free environment
- Submit on time/accurate crewmembers’ timesheets and field receipts from vendors and/or subcontractors
- Attend branch operation meetings as required
- Ensure the job site is kept clean, safe, and secure at all times
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of proven and successful experience in the construction industry required
- Interior renovation experience required
- Knowledge of construction principles/practices required
- Desirable experience with federal customers
- This position requires to pass a U.S security clearance
- Experience directing and coordinating subcontractors
- Bilingual (Spanish) desirable
- Strong leadership, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Able to learn and implement Lean Construction principles and methodologies
- OSHA 30 required
- This position requires some travel
