Role: Service Delivery Leader (Premium Accounting and Finance)

Position Overview
The Service Delivery Leader (Premium Accounting and Finance) will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing premium billing, payment, accounting, and finance functions across health insurance payer lines of business within an IT services company. This company specializes in delivering Business Process as a Service (BPaaS) solutions to health insurance companies, providing advanced technology platforms and comprehensive support services. Reporting directly to the Head of Healthcare BPaaS, this position requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and expertise in health insurance industry regulations and practices. We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide support to the Head of Healthcare BPaaS in overseeing the financial performance of the organization, as well as managing the premium accounting and treasury functions/operations. This role will involve close collaboration with the Enterprise Finance team to ensure seamless financial management and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a background in executive-level finance or accounting roles within the insurance or healthcare sectors, with a deep understanding of premium accounting principles and regulations. Experience with IT platforms delivery and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the Premium Accounting department, providing effective leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of professionals.
- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize premium accounting processes, controls and financial reporting systems.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting professional growth and development opportunities for team members.
Strategic Planning and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls, including GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
- Stay updated with industry trends, developments, and changes in premium accounting regulations and communicate necessary updates to the team.
- Collaborate with shared services colleagues from corporate finance, legal, and compliance to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Operations Management:
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing, invoicing, and collection of premiums.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, claims, and finance, to ensure seamless integration and coordination of premium accounting activities.
- Identify and implement continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy within the premium accounting function.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor key performance metrics and prepare comprehensive reports on departmental performance, trends, and financial analysis for executive review.
- Work cross-functionally to identify cost optimization and increased revenue opportunities.
- Provide strategic direction for financial planning and forecasting related to premium accounting operations.
Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as auditors, industry associations, and regulatory authorities.
- Interact with CFOs from health insurance plan clients to support and address accounting and finance matters effectively.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience at a leadership level within the healthcare industry.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of premium accounting principles, practices, and regulations within the insurance industry.
- Experience with IT, platform delivery and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is highly beneficial.
- Proven track record of strategic planning, process optimization, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of an organization, with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
