About the Job:
The Network Engineer III will have the primary responsibility for assisting the Network Manager in the implementation of functional network infrastructure with a focus on security at an intermediate level. Additionally, the Network Engineer III provides technical support to all internal and external clients/employees. The position monitors, troubleshoots, and diagnoses network performance, confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
This role will ensure operational performance and service levels are met or exceeded across IT network infrastructure. An ability to think ahead of the curve and understanding of how to manage and prioritize risk (probability vs impact) is critical to the success of Odyssey and key for this engineer. The successful candidate must be energized by opportunity for improvement and have an innate ability to plan future-state goals and implement project plans.
In This Role, You Will:
- Implement multi-year strategic roadmap and network architecture design.
- Administration of enterprise IT infrastructure including networking equipment, security hardware and software, and WAN connectivity.
- Ensure efficient maintenance of corporate LANs, WANs, and wireless networks including routers, switches, VoIP, power systems, firewalls, and other hardware.
- Ensure service excellence through effective monitoring and alerting, continuous improvement, performance evaluation, and postmortem techniques.
- Assist in implementation of diagnostics and maintenance processes on all network hardware assets while troubleshooting end-user devices when additional expertise is required.
- Work within the guidelines of our change management process to conduct appropriate updates.
- Active pursuit of Networking training to further skillsets.
- All other duties and projects as assigned.

Required:
- Minimum 6 years of relevant hands-on networking experience.
- B.S. in technology related field or combination of education and experience.
- Advanced understanding of Data Centers, Campus LAN/WAN technologies, Cloud Networking, Network Security
- Top-level understanding of network segmentation and corresponding principles – VLAN, user isolation, DMZ, RBAC, etc.
- Hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting Cisco LAN/WAN hardware.
- Experience with Cisco security suite including SASE, Meraki, NGFW, NIPS/HIPS
- Competency in proactive monitoring and alerting and networking best practices.
- Demonstrates strong time management, communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and project-management skills.
- Must possess one networking certification, or must obtain in first year, CCIE, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security.
- Holds at least one security certification like CASP+, Security+, CEH, etc. or be able to earn within 1 year.
Location: This is a hybrid in-office role in Charlotte, NC
