Our client is a commercial real estate investment company that primarily invests in acquisitions in Texas across a broad spectrum of asset types. The firm’s founders have worked together for over 17 years and have collectively acquired or developed approximately 40 properties totaling $800M of value.
Position
The Senior Analyst will support the investment team on new acquisitions as well as assist in the asset management of existing assets. The Senior Analyst will have a substantial role in the underwriting and due diligence of investments across multiple property types and structures. The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating investment transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing deals across all property types and investment structures. In addition, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the monitoring of existing assets as they progress through the investment cycle with a heavy emphasis on financial reporting.

Responsibilities
- Financial underwriting of acquisitions and dispositions. Developing complex financial cashflow models using MS Excel and Argus covering all aspects of the capital stack (debt, mezzanine, equity, JV partnerships, etc.), including complex equity returns, IRR calculations and waterfalls.
- Gather and evaluate detailed economic, demographic, and real estate market data on deals in process.
- Prepare presentations, offering memoranda and financial reports.
- Review and analyze legal documents and other materials as part of the due diligence process.
- Aid in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and reports.
- Conduct market research and analysis utilizing internal and external resources, as well as self-generated surveys.
- Act as a resource to investors during the closing process, supporting their diligence needs.
- Interact with clients, brokers, prospective buyers / sellers and investors.
- Take the lead on obtaining estoppels and calculating prorations.
- Project Manage internal and external team members ensuring projects meet timelines.
- Manage simple projects and assist lead on complex project management.
- All other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in real estate banking, brokerage, or related roles. Experience in a real estate private equity is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or accounting preferred.
- Previous experience with a real estate investment bank structuring both debt and equity transactions.
- Strong financial / analytical / modeling skills.
- Demonstrate a strong proficiency in financial modeling (using MS Excel), MS Word, and Argus.
- Skilled in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing large amounts of market data, facilitating data-based decision-making.
