We are hiring for a logistics coordinator for a local transportation company, in this role you will be responsible for monitoring the movement of shipments and ensuring timely and accurate communication with customers regarding the status of their freight. This role involves tracking and tracing shipments, resolving issues in transit, and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor and trace shipments from origin to destination, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and within the expected transit periods.
- Customer Communication: Provide timely and accurate updates to customers regarding their shipments. Address any customer inquiries or concerns related to the status of their orders.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively identify delays or potential problems in the transportation process. Work with carriers, drivers, and internal teams to resolve any issues that arise during transit.
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of shipment statuses, delivery times, and any issues encountered. Update internal systems and ensure that all documentation is completed and filed correctly.
- Coordination with Carriers: Communicate directly with transportation providers (e.g., trucking companies, freight forwarders) to verify shipment status and ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, service accuracy, and customer satisfaction metrics. Suggest improvements to enhance logistics performance.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with clients and customers by providing reliable and efficient service, fostering trust, and ensuring repeat business.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with logistics, dispatch, and warehouse teams to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues that could affect delivery timelines.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a logistics, transportation, or customer service role. Experience with shipment tracking software is an advantage.
