The Technical Communications Manager is a part of Clutch's Professional Services team.
Overview of Opportunity
The Technical Communications Manager is responsible for creating and managing content that highlights the IT and technical achievements and innovations of Clutch's client. This role is focused on driving the strategic development and execution of content that showcases the organization's IT successes and innovations, particularly within the public sector. The Manager will produce innovative communications, marketing plans, and content for both internal stakeholders and external audiences with the goal of promoting the client's technical success, enhancing its reputation, and supporting business objectives. This role collaborates with various teams to develop compelling narratives that communicate complex technical concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that showcases the organization's IT and technical success, innovations, and expertise.
- Lead the creation and implementation of innovative communication strategies that position the organization as a thought leader in the public sector and IT space.
- Align content marketing and communication initiatives with business goals and target audiences, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
- Produce high-quality marketing and communications content, including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, technical articles, and internal newsletters, that highlight the organization's technical successes and innovations.
- Collaborate with technical teams to gather information and translate complex concepts into engaging marketing narratives.
- Develop and distribute internal communications to keep employees informed and engaged with the organization's technical projects, successes, and milestones.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the organization.
- Manage and distribute content through various external channels, including the organization’s website, social media, industry publications, and email newsletters.
- Ensure that content reaches the right audience and generates positive engagement and recognition to enhance visibility of the organization’s technical success in the market.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other technical stakeholders to gather insights and information for content creation.
- Collaborate with marketing, PR, and communications teams on cohesive content development processes that leverage expertise from various teams to ensure content alignment and amplification.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of content initiatives.
- Analyze data and feedback to continuously improve content quality, engagement, and strategic impact.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content marketing and technical communication.
- Craft cutting-edge content strategies that keep the organization competitive, relevant, and innovative in content marketing efforts.
About You (Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
- 8+ years' experience in content marketing, technical writing, or a related field, with a focus on promoting technical success and innovation.
- Proven experience collaborating with IT firms, with a strong understanding of software development processes and the ability to effectively communicate and highlight IT successes to diverse audiences.
- Deep understanding of technical concepts related to continuous improvement and continuous development (CI/CD)systems in IT, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, accessible content for various stakeholders and audiences.
- In-depth knowledge of the California political landscape, including familiarity with state agency operations, governance structures, and executive branch communications.
- Capacity to work independently and take initiative in identifying content opportunities that support organizational goals and IT success narratives.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives around IT and software development topics.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical skills, with the ability to measure content performance and derive insights for continuous improvement.
- Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple content initiatives and meet deadlines.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) (e.g., WordPress, HubSpot) for managing and publishing content.
- Hands-on experience using social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) for scheduling and monitoring content distribution.
- Ability to use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush) for tracking content performance and engagement.

Compensation
$40.00-$50.00 per hour
