Our client, a digital marketing agency specializing in franchise businesses, is seeking an Associate Media Director to lead and manage their media department (excluding search). In this role, you will provide strategic direction, oversee execution, and ensure the delivery of exceptional results across various channels and client portfolios. This position requires a deep understanding of digital marketing, technology, and the ability to foster collaboration across multiple departments.
Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership: Build, manage, and develop a high-performing media team. Assess skills, structure, and oversee career management.
- Organizational Leadership: Collaborate with company leaders to evolve the agency's approach to paid media solutions.
- Process & Policy Development: Create and refine processes to support scalability and growth within the media team and across departments.
- Media Strategy: Develop and implement multi-tiered media strategies and plans across various channels and client portfolios on local, regional, and national levels.
- Channel & Technology Integration: Ensure seamless integration across different marketing channels and analytics platforms, fostering collaboration among teams.
- Campaign Oversight & Execution: Oversee the execution and optimization of campaigns across multiple channels to meet client objectives and performance targets. Adjust strategies as needed.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage resources and budgets effectively to ensure alignment with plans and goals.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with creative, ad ops, and other teams to develop integrated marketing strategies.
- New Business & Growth: Identify growth opportunities within current accounts and contribute to new business pitches.
- Partner Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with media platforms and ad tech partners.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary contact for performance updates, issues, and strategic shifts.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of media strategists, specialists, and coordinators.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of agency experience in planning and managing multi-channel media programs.
- 5+ years of experience in mentoring and training junior team members.
- 3+ years of experience managing large-scale local lead generation campaigns for brands with over 100 locations.
- Proven experience running lead generation campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to client executives and upper management.
- Deep understanding of media channels and tactics based on client objectives and KPIs.
- Ability to present insights and field questions related to campaign objectives and strategy.
- Experience in planning, buying, and optimizing across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Programmatic (Video, Display, and CTV), and other platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of marketing automation and technology stacks.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to integrate traditional and digital media strategies.
- Proficiency in data analytics, measurement, and various data sources and methodologies.
- Significant Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
