Role Description: This is a full-time or part-time position for an Energy Rater or Energy Auditor in the greater Omaha, NE area. You will be responsible for conducting energy audits and performing energy rating assessments for single-family and multi-family projects. The role involves conducting energy audits, inspecting building structures for energy efficiency, and ensuring compliance with energy codes and regulations. You will work closely with builders, architects, and homeowners to ensure compliance with energy efficiency standards and to provide recommendations for energy savings. We will pay for you to obtain all certifications needed to fulfill your role. All necessary equipment including safety equipment and training will be provided. Most of your time (4 days/week) may be performed onsite. Basic knowledge of construction site behavior and safety regulations are required. Some travel will be required.
Job Tasks:
- Perform duct leakage testing.
- Perform blower door tests for both residential and commercial projects.
- Perform field verification and diagnostics of HVAC systems
- Perform field verification of air, water, vapor, and insulation installations.
- Excel at customer service particularly during onsite visits.
- Entry field data promptly and submit field reports immediately.
- Work independently
- Maintain equipment
Additional skills:
- Basic understanding of residential construction with 2 years experience.
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license and insurability to drive company vehicles to job sites.
- Understanding of energy modeling, tools, and software is a plus.
- RESNET or BPI certification is also a plus.
- Ability to communicate with homeowner, co-workers, subtractors, and construction site managers both orally and in writing.
- Working knowledge OSHA standards and requirements.

What We Offer:
This is a full time position (40 hours/week) based in Omaha, NE with a competitive salary ranging from $23/hr to $29/hr ($47,840-$60,3200 annually). Exact compensation and additional benefits (vacation, life insurance, retirement plan, and health insurance), and paid continuing education to maintain certifications may be available and will vary based on skills, and experience. This position does qualify for overtime pay. This position offers a lot of freedom and flexibility.
