Summary of Position
Under direction of the Materials Management Supervisor, the Warehouse Specialist II receives, stores, and distributes customer material as directed. Will be responsible for supporting the Materials Management Supervisor in driving overall efficient and accurate movement of materials to enable excellent service to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs palletizing, shrink-wrapping, loading, and unloading of client boxes; shrink wrap boxes after they are placed on pallets to ready for shredding or storage off site.
- Pulls client boxes and delivers to appropriate work areas, prepares warehouse for shipments or deliveries, operates a pallet jack or forklift and/or performs general labor duties as needed.
- Creates and maintains storage system to keep each customer’s work separate from other customers’ material at all times; sorts and stores customer boxes in a neat and orderly fashion, compliant with storage specifications.
- Reports and repairs any client boxes that have suffered deterioration.
- Maintains accurate inventory records at all times.
- Picks up from or delivers boxes to our customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of warehouse.
- Coordinates with supervisor to put away boxes nightly from the production floor and ensures daily inventory of work is on the production floor every morning.
- Ensures maintenance and cleanliness of company vehicles, operates vehicles in accordance with city, state, and federal laws, and maintains and enters vehicle logs into the system.
- Assists in the operation and management of multiple facilities including but not limited to building issues, equipment maintenance, inventory, cleaning, waste disposal, grounds, and SOP.
- Responsible for coordinating the maintenance, repair, and alterations for multiple facilities.
- Responsible for keeping and maintaining records for facilities maintenance, will be POC for any audits on facilities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2 or more years’ experience in warehouse/logistics.
- Experience and/or training in shipping/receiving and material handling.
- Experience in working pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Must possess and maintain a current valid Virginia driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Obtain and maintain proper security clearance level for each program assigned.

This is a warehouse position. May be required to work outside of normally scheduled hours as mandated by the client, project and/or workload (i.e., evenings, weekends, and/or holidays). Physical activity may include: twisting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, grasping, grabbing, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion, climbing, etc. Heavy lifting is required. May need to lift, carry and/or move equipment/supplies weighing up to 60 pounds, always using safe lifting techniques. Frequently required to push/pull cart to transport boxes in warehouse and production department. Constant amount of time spent working in a loud office environment with frequent interruptions/distractions. Frequent walking/standing may be required. Walking and/or transporting supplies and equipment between buildings/parking lots and structures may be required.
