When does the role start?
As soon as we find the right candidate! We’re not in a hurry, but happy to hire tomorrow should the right person apply for the position.
The role:
The core mission of our Payroll Manager is to oversee our various payrolls and ensure our staff are paid on time, and accurately. They will lead, coach and manage three direct reports and be responsible for empowering them and fostering their individual development. Most of the time, this is a 'coaching' role, but on occasion (eg when a team member is out on PTO) you'll be required to step in as a 'player' in the game. The payroll manager reports to our director of finance, and is part of a broader team of nine.
You’ll work on:
- Overseeing the processing of our 4+ payrolls. These are a combination of internal and external staff, exempt and non-exempt employees, but all are multi-state.
- Management of three direct reports. Talk with them daily, and meet with them weekly to ensure they are both performing and continuing to grow and develop.
- Complex changes and challenges that come with running multiple payrolls in multiple states. Problem-solving and process creation is a key component of this position.
You should have:
- 3+years of payroll manager experience
- Managed multiple direct reports simultaneously
- Extensive payroll processing and analysis experience
- High level Microsoft Excel skills
- Ridiculous attention to detail
- Demonstrated history of delivering exceptional outcomes
You’ll stand out if you:
- Have a CPP certification
- Familiarity working with ADP WFN
