The Controls Engineer will have responsibility for manufacturing line automation, process controls, and systems information. This position supports an automated manufacturing process and will work cross-functionally with vendors, equipment manufacturers, Operations, Maintenance, and IT.
Controls Engineer Responsibilities:
- Monitor, maintain and support plant-wide automation systems including the PLC-based shop floor automation and control systems equipment.
- Design Process Controls Systems & Strategies
- Specify, Procure & Perform maintenance on PLC and HMI systems including programming & backups of programs.
- Specify & procure Motor Control Centers (MCC’s), servo and VFD drive systems, control hardware and field instrumentation.
- Provide Engineering support for OEM factory and site acceptance testing on new equipment.
- Serve as a resource and support to the wider internal IT team.
- Communicate and work cross-functionally with engineering, IT, Operations, Maintenance, vendors, and equipment manufacturers.
Controls Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of Electrical Engineering industrial controls experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs
- Experience with Rockwell software: Studio 5000, RSlogix5000, CCW, FactoryTalk.
- Experience with Networking, Hardware, and field instrumentation.
- Proficient in reading and understanding electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and P&ID drawings and schematics.
- Ability to travel 50% domestically.
