We’re a pre-seed stage startup developing Genesis, a modular hardware platform that takes captured and waste CO2 and converts it to 100% renewable, synthetic hydrocarbon fuel, directly compatible with today’s energy infrastructure. Our technology will enable the new era of clean energy independence on Earth, and will enable new space missions to Mars and beyond.
Job Description
You will work closely with the co-founders and technical team to develop critical technology for our systems. You’ll have extreme ownership over your work, move quickly, and operate with high agency. As we grow, there will be opportunities to expand your role with the company.
Responsibilities will be tailored to the candidate’s profile and may include:
- Design, build, and operation of novel, low-cost water electrolysis systems
- Design of testing and experiments to evaluate system performance
- Analyze data and provide recommendations for future development
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to design and scale up processes based on customer and internal requirements
- Ownership of outcomes and direct contribution to the growth of the company
- Manage a team of engineers and scientists
Requirements
There are no hard and fast qualifications required for working at General Galactic. Our team is made up of top performers from a variety of backgrounds, and we welcome anyone with a passion for chasing global challenges to apply. Some of your skills might include:
- Strong relevant experience at a startup, industry role, university, national lab, or similar
- Strong engineering background and first-principles approach to problem solving
- Experience with the design, development, and assembly of electrochemical systems
- Ability to perform trade studies and technical analyses, and make clear recommendations using first principles even with incomplete or partial information
- Understanding of technical challenges associated with scaling and deploying a commercial hardware solution in the energy space
- Experience with data analysis in MATLAB, Python, or similar
- Experience with lab scale control systems (e.g. LabVIEW or other PLC)

Your salary and incentives will be determined individually on the basis of the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base Range: $120,000 to $230,000/year + benefits + stock award plan
