University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) is looking for a dynamic leader as Director of Advance d Endoscopy. The Director of Advance Endoscopy (Director) is responsible for directing nursing care and all related clinical activities of the endoscopy, pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative clinical areas. The Director has full responsibility for the department, to include the business side, budgetary, staffing, staff employee relations issues, etc.
Work experience requirements:
- Five years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in the area of endoscopy and strong skill set and knowledge of advanced endoscopy processes and procedures required.
- Five years of nursing management experience is required.
Education/Licensing/Credentials:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, current TX-RN license or license eligible in Texas and BLS certification is required.
- Certified Gastro Registered Nurse (CGRN), Certification Endoscope Reprocessing (CER) or Certified Healthcare Leadership (CHL) certified required or must obtain within two years from being in the position.

- Ability to problem solve and resolve situations effectively. Both proactive and reactive dependent on the need.

- Proven understanding and application of strategies of nursing management.

- Proven ability to negotiate and mediate, bringing, together diverse perspectives with beneficial outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge of factors affecting delivery of patient care services and ability to lead the development and implementation of organizational changes to address strategic initiatives and opportunities to improve patient care and nursing practice.
- Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
- Proven leadership ability, with demonstrated success in engendering trust, confidence, and commitment of medical staff.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out projects or change initiatives of significant magnitude.
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
