We are looking for a motivated PLC Automation & Controls Engineer/Technician with 3 to 10 years of experience in PLC programming, automation, and electrical control systems. The ideal candidate should be experienced with Allen Bradley PLCs, have strong troubleshooting abilities with electrical equipment, and a solid understanding of NEC and NFPA standards. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, High School Diploma, or GED are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Program, configure, and maintain Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to automate and optimize industrial processes.
- Develop, test, and implement control systems for manufacturing and production environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLCs, control systems, and other electrical equipment, ensuring reliable and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automation systems that meet production requirements.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to ensure accurate system implementation.
- Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Perform system maintenance, upgrades, and commissioning activities, ensuring control systems are functioning according to specifications.
- Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance personnel on the operation of PLC-controlled systems.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety checks, adhering to industrial safety standards and regulations.
- Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts to enhance system performance and reduce downtime.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with relevant work experience.
- 3 to 10 years of hands-on experience with PLC programming and automation systems.
- Expertise with Allen Bradley PLCs (RSLogix 500/5000, FactoryTalk) and other related automation software.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial control systems, including HMI development, VFDs, and servo systems.
- Knowledge of NEC and NFPA standards, with experience in applying them in electrical design and safety.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with other PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Schneider) is a plus
