The Fire Protection Engineer will be a key contributor to the Engineering Team, supporting all functional groups within the organization. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and testing fire protection systems and solutions.
Responsibilities:
- System Assessment and Engineering: Develop comprehensive system assessment reports and conversion/upgrade proposals for existing foam systems.
- Product and System Design: Design custom-engineered fire protection systems for special hazards and collaborate with the engineering team to develop commercial proposals.
- Product Testing and Qualification: Participate in product qualification testing programs for UL/FM agencies and conduct fieldwork to support firefighting systems at customer sites.
- Fieldwork and Client Engagement: Engage in direct project management, client management, and fieldwork to support firefighting systems at customer sites.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering OR Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a documented background in fire protection
- 1-3 years of experience in an engineering and/or engineering process discipline
- Fire protection systems design experience, with a specific focus on special hazards, OR general working/field knowledge of fire protection systems
- Experience in mechanical systems related to fluids engineering, pumps, engines, and hydraulic theory
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with fire protection methods, systems, and their design (NFPA, FM, UL)
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong problem-solving and conceptual skills
- Cooperative decision-making and teaming skills
