Position Overview:
The Director of Retail Marketing will spearhead the retail marketing strategies across California for Natura Life + Science’s house of brands. This role is crucial for driving brand awareness and sales through effective retail marketing campaigns, demo programs, in-store promotions, and visual merchandising across dispensaries. The Director will collaborate closely with sales, product, and creative teams to optimize consumer engagement and brand visibility at the retail level. The ideal candidate is an experienced retail marketing leader with deep knowledge of the California cannabis market, excelling in building partnerships with retailers and executing high-impact programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Retail Strategy Development:
Develop and execute strategic retail marketing plans, including promotional campaigns, demos, and merchandising programs, across all Natura house brands to drive awareness and sales within dispensaries.
Oversee planning, staffing, and execution of in-store demos and promotional activations that align with brand goals. Ensure consistent scheduling and high-impact consumer engagement throughout key markets.
- In-Store Merchandising & Displays:
Lead the development and execution of retail displays, signage, and merchandising solutions to optimize in-store brand presence. Coordinate with creative teams to ensure alignment with brand standards and retailer requirements.
- Retail Partner Collaboration:
Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners across California to ensure optimal brand placement, promotions, and retailer support. Collaborate with sales teams to drive sell-through initiatives and foster retailer loyalty.
- Promotions & Sales Support:
Manage retail-specific promotions and incentive programs (e.g., budtender training and spiffs), tracking performance and ROI. Work with sales teams to ensure effective execution of promotions at the store level.
- Market Insights & Performance Tracking:
Monitor retail market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity in California. Track performance of retail marketing initiatives, including foot traffic, sales impact, and brand perception, making data-driven adjustments to strategies.
- Team Leadership & Vendor Management:
Lead and mentor a team of retail marketing specialists. Manage relationships with third-party vendors for merchandising, demo staffing, and event activations.

- Expertise in managing retail marketing budgets and optimizing resources for maximum impact.
- Strong creative instincts and the ability to collaborate with design and product teams to bring ideas to life.
- Experience in leading teams and managing third-party vendors.
- Knowledge of California’s cannabis regulations and market dynamics.
Salary:
$120,000 annual salary
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position may have some supervisory responsibilities.
Working Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
