Roles and Responsibilities:
The Splunk Systems SME configures, maintains, administers and deploys Splunk technologies and the related servers. Provide technical leadership in the architecture, design, deployment, management, configuration and use of Cyber Security Technology in log ingestion and alerting. Troubleshoot complex technical problems involving splunk technologies in use against sophisticated threats. Recommends configuration and architectural changes to improve the performance, usability, and value of splunk and related analysis tools.
Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience required
- Minimum 12 years IT experience with three or more years of practical experience in a technology administration role
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Splunk
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems and common applications
- Advanced knowledge of the following:
- information systems security concepts and technologies;
- network architecture and tools;
- general database concepts;
- hardware and software troubleshooting;
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certificate programs in relevant areas
- Programming experience in any or all of the following languages: C, C++, HTML, PERL, JavaScript, SQL, Assembly, other scripting languages is a plus.
