Atlas is looking for a Building Sciences Practice Team Manager for West Springfield, MA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage mold, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and other building science-related projects in various settings.
- Operate and maintain testing equipment and instruments including air-sampling pumps, real-time air monitoring equipment, moisture meters, IR cameras, and calibrators.
- Provide leadership, training and support to all levels of the organization.
- Able to oversee junior staff, subcontractors, and multiple projects in a professional and efficient manner.
- Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives in a professional manner.
- Effectively communicate with direct supervisor and other Atlas team members
- Read and understand project specifications, sampling methodologies, and building drawings.
- Prepare budgets, technical proposals and reports and provide related quality assurance/quality control.
- Ensure projects are completed safely in a timely manner and within budget constraints of the project.
- Abide by Atlas' health and safety policies and procedures
- Approval to drive a company car or rental vehicles – valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a MVR.
- Ability to occasionally work off-hours and weekends (20-30% of time)
- Regional (New England & Northeast New York) travel is required. Out of region travel typically less than 10% but opportunities are available, if interested in traveling outside of region.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in science-related field preferred, but not required
- 10-15 years’ of experience in building sciences.
- Additional experience in lieu of degree considered
- Experience with asbestos, mold, and lead related projects required.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License, ability to pass a Driver Background Check, and have reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a Background Check for work with state and local governments along with defense contractor clients
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other personal protective equipment as needed
- Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills required.
- Proven effective management skills required.
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Technical Requirements
- Asbestos, lead, and/or mold licenses or training required
- Microsoft Office experience required
- Experienced in writing comprehensive technical reports and proposals
- Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations applicable to asbestos, lead, indoor air quality and industrial hygiene services required
