EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Professional certification preferred. 10+ years
- Senior management experience in a relevant nonprofit, public agency or other organization (preference for COO experience).
- Strong operational skills, preferably with significant experience managing budgets.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence including diplomacy, persuasion, superior oral and written communication, consensus building and decision-making.
- Five years of experience with supervision of staff. Experience with 200+ employee organization.
DUTIES:
FINANCES
- Establishes, monitors, and enforces financial standards, policies and procedures
- Develops and oversees financial budget. Responsible for budget rate-setting compliance.
- Create financial models, including forecasting, strategic and long-range planning to support decision making.
- Establishes and maintains system of internal accounting controls and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversees cash flow of the organization and monitors investment purchases following PHILLIPS Programs investment guidelines.
- Provides status of financial condition of the organization by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data.
- Oversees audits as required and appropriate.
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures manual for accounting and financial systems.
- Responsible for all contracts, agreements and leases
TECHNOLOGY
- Has overall responsibility for Phillips computer network including maintaining functionality and overseeing upgrades as appropriate.
- Has overall responsibility for Phillips information systems including maintaining functionality and overseeing development of improvements and upgrades.
- Is responsible for the development of general technology policies and supervision of the implementation of these policies and procedures.
- Drives analytics and reporting data to continuously improve decision-making.
BUILDING
- Makes final decision about use of facility and grounds.
- Oversee major building projects.
STAFF MANAGEMENT
- Ensures organization compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements regarding federal and state tax and corporate requirements.
- Maintains all contracts of financial significance and plans for cash flow implications of agreements.
- Maintains fixed assets schedules and related depreciation calculations.
OTHERS
- Serves on Finance and Administrative Committees and attends Board Meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
