Day to Day:
The Senior Server Administrator is responsible for reviewing processes and procedures throughout the production environment and driving improvements. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that production runs as efficiently as possible while providing continuous improvement (CI), and being a technical liaison to teams to ensure that operational readiness best practices are being adhered to.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related discipline
- Experience with UNIX, Windows
- 5+ years of experience supporting technical operations
- Understanding of MQ -- stop, recycle, start channels
- Experience with UC4 scheduler or Control M
- Networking troubleshooting skills
- 5+ years’ experience production systems operations or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Ability to work in a multi-task in an environment of constantly changing priorities
- Knowledge of ITIL principles (Information Technology Infrastructure Library, IT best practices)
- Experience working with technology systems (software & hardware) in large organizations
- Understanding of relationship between software and hardware
- Knowledge of application life cycle and deployment (framework for software development)
- Experience with problem and incident management
- Good consultative, communication, analytical, and judgment skills
