Weekly Pay Range - $2473 To $2748 Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, 2 weekends per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required for submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong and thorough documentation skills, and recent Cerner experience (preferred) Job Description: - Participate in a pre-screening by the Medical Solutions Clinical Team, followed by an interview with the Manager if recommended. - No first-time travelers are accepted for this position; please ensure candidates are ready to accept if offered. - The Emergency Room unit consists of 33 total patient care rooms, 25 equipped with cardiac monitors, and a triage area with 2 bays. - Staffing includes midlevel practitioners, Registered Nurses (RNs), or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs). - Patient to nurse ratio is 1 to 4, with an average of 210 patients seen. - Familiarity with the Cerner EMR system is preferred, with the possibility to test out of additional training. - Charge nurses are present 24/7, and ER Techs with EMT, MA, or CNA experience assist with tech duties and EKGs. - Weekend work is required every other weekend, with holiday requirements of 2 out of 3 major holidays. - Navy blue scrub uniform is required, with specific guidelines for jackets and undershirts. - Central monitoring stations are available in both nurses' stations using GE telemetry. - Rotating teams, including up to 5 physicians and 3 midlevel practitioners, are available for assistance. - The hospital is stroke certified and serves as a base hospital for EMS. - ER nurses must handle holds and board patients when necessary. - This facility strictly follows the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), ensuring stabilization and treatment of all patients, irrespective of their insurance or ability to pay. - Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts per contract period, potentially compensating full hours in lieu of cancellation. - No floating outside of the Emergency Room. - Floor-specific orientation is provided, up to 6 shifts with a preceptor. - The hospital's focus is on routine ER patients while transferring STEMIs, hemorrhagic strokes, and pediatric cases.
