Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Emergency Department Job Duration: 13-week contract Shift: 6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an Emergency Department; Previous experience in a Trauma Level 1 facility preferred License: Current RN licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC Must-Have: Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans; Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services; Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel Job Description: - Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. - Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families. - Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team. - Participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensure implementation of solutions. - Develop and display clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to create effective nursing care plans. - Work collaboratively with techs and other staff, understanding staffing shortages may occur. - Schedule work in six-week blocks with a preference for limited consecutive days of PTO. - Participate in phone interviews as part of the hiring process. Preferred Experience: - Previous travel nursing experience - PALS certification - Experience working in inner-city hospitals - Experience in handling high populations of psychiatric and critical patients Note: Patient demographics include all ages; however, pediatrics cases are rare, with burns and pediatrics being the only outsourced cases.
