Nature of Work
Serves as a business analyst in the West Virginia WIC Help Desk by taking calls from 57 clinics statewide for technical assistance and troubleshooting related to the Crossroads Management Information System (MIS), the WIC eligibility and benefit issuance system for approximately 34,000 participants monthly.
This position will:
- Test, document, track, and create work arounds for defects in enhancement for the Crossroads application.
- Serve on a team of Subject Matter Experts to conceptualize, analyze, develop, and test software functionality as well as determine the impact of proposed changes within the context of Crossroads maintenance or enhancement.
- Assess WIC Program needs and recommend software and/or it's service solutions to support the business and practice rules within WIC federal regulations, WV Office of Technology, and OSA/ MIS.
- Research problems and fix data issues in Crossroads MIS through SQL Manager.
- Provide first line technical support to WIC external and internal customers who need assistance through toll free lines or by emails which may include issuance, transaction, or redemption issues with Electronic Benefit transfer (EBT).
- Coordinate special medical food orders through the contract formula warehouse to ensure receipt and delivery of product to WIC participants address or clinic address.
- Ensure the automated messaging system runs daily as well as assist state and local WIC employees with set-up of messaging (phone, text, mail and email) for communication with WIC participants and retailers.
- Manage the WIC participant portal regarding triaging online applications, ensuring appropriate scheduling of online applicants by local WIC clinics, and preventing dual participation.
- Maintain the WIC website.
Other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the Office of Nutrition Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Two (2) years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.
Substitution: Postgraduate education in a field related to the area of employment may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one (1) year of experience.
OR
Master's degree in social work from a regionally accredited social work program from a regionally accredited college or university.
Note: Appointment above the entry rate may be made at 5% for each six (6) months of successfully completed work as an intern in a practicum placement with the Department of Health and Human Resources for the Master of Social Work degree.
