Location: Remote on the West Coast of the USA, with travel amongst the region and training in Ladson, SC.
Summary Description
The Training and Sales Promotion Technician will be responsible for designing and implementing product training programs and promotional campaigns with the goal of increasing product knowledge and awareness within our customer base. They will work closely with the sales team to understand their customers’ and end-user training needs, carrying out effective training programs to improve customer knowledge base, ability to effectively sell our products, and to troubleshoot problems. Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining promotional materials and distributing them to our sales team and customers as needed.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with sales area managers to develop a training schedule for planned events such as regional trade shows, counter days, classes, webinars, etc.
- Conduct training sessions for customers, both in person and online, to improve their product knowledge, capability of selling our products, and troubleshooting capabilities
- Communicate with sales and marketing teams regarding questions and concerns from the field regarding our products, sales strategy, pricing, or any other customer concerns
- Ensure the distribution of sales support materials (literature, brochures, technical data sheets, quick start guides, etc.) to customers within designated sales area
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs and make recommendations for improvements
- Ensure CRM is updated after each customer visit to maintain up to date records
Competencies and Skills
- Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects
- Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Certification such as CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) is a strong asset
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in training, manufacturing or related training systems discipline
- 5+ years technical training experience within water pumps, HVAC systems or plumbing
- Willingness to travel 50%
