The Outside Sales Representative will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by developing and expanding relationships with new and existing clients. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, and closing sales while maintaining strong relationships with current clients. This role requires a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can work independently to achieve sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a specific territory growth plan, identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities through in-person meetings, field calls, telephone, internet, referrals, and industry networking.
- Meet with prospective clients to secure new business and manage follow-up meetings to complete the sales process.
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships while consistently meeting sales targets.
- Forecast and track key account metrics such as quarterly sales results and annual forecasts.
- Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering preferred; 10+ years of relevant experience may qualify in lieu of a degree.
- Proven sales track record within the Aerospace and Defense/Industrial sectors.
- Background in industrial or technical sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Strong ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and climbing.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
